Sayuri さ ゆ り

Inspired by one of my favorite novels, Arthur Golden's "Memoirs of a Geisha", I'm so excited to bring you my latest creation "Sayuri"...gentle and sweet just like the heroine.
Sayuri is approximately 26cm/10.5 inches tall and is created from quality Shulte sparse mohair with a golden blonde pile on rich yellow strong backing. Sayuri is 5 way jointed using cotter pin joints and have large black German glass eyes. I've given her a little light brown embroidered nose and lightly shaded her rosey cheeks in pink. Sayuri is filled with quality polyflock stuffing and her feet contains a combination of steel shots and glass beads to help her stand on her own so that she can show off her pretty summer kimono "Yukata".

Sayuri's yukata is made by me using a traditional yukata pattern that I'd drawn up from my own Yukata. She loves to sing and dance and may yet to be a Geisha!? :D
Sayuri is now available for adoption from my website.
Sayuri have now found a new home with Rachael in the UK.

Kimono fabric

I've been meaning to make a bear wearing kimonos for a while but I'm finding it hard to get started...mainly because I'm not very confident in making clothes and to make a kimono(?) to say the least, is a bit daunting for this bear maker! I'm starting to understand how people feel when they say they're afraid to cut the mohair in case they make a boo boo..I feel the same way about beautiful fabrics! I get so inspired when I see beautiful materials so to give myself a push, I went out to shop for pretty kimono fabrics and I stumbled upon this beautiful piece!!! I especially love this one because of the cherry blossoms ( I LOVE cherry blossoms)!!

I'm told traditionally, kimonos are made from strips of panels, sewn together to create the kimono. The strips of fabric are 38cm wide but are very long. I have a limited supply and they are also available from my website, just keep scrolling down and you'll see it :D All pieces are 1m measuring 38cm x 100cm. If you like a longer piece please let me know and I can cut a larger piece instead.

Trumpet by Scottie

I love what Scottie did with Trumpet's pattern! What a cutie, especially with his little cone hat and colar :D

"Thank you Jenny! That pattern worked perfectly, and I have to tell you, it's my absolute favorite so far. :)
Thanks, Scottie"

baby blue Chickadee Chu Chu

Hope you are all enjoying the anticipation of Christmas like I am!!! :D
I've just finished another chickadee baby...please meet my latest chick "Chu Chu"...
Chu Chu is approximately 15cm/6 inches tall and is 5 way jointed assembled using cotter pin joints. He wears quality thick dense mohair in a pretty blue colour! I LOVE IT!! Chu Chu has one pink mohair footpad and the other made from Japanese fabric with a bug print on it...very cute! :D Chu Chu has big rosey cheeks, large German glass eyes and a felt beak.
He is filled with heavy polyflock stuffing and his feet and tummy contains a combination of lead free steel shots and glass beads to give him added weight so that he won't topple over when he's sitting!! He's looking very lonely sitting all by himself but he will sit patiently waiting for his new mummy to come along! :D He is now available for adoption directly from my website .
He has now found a new home with Emma in the UK.
The Twinkee keychains have been very popular and they have all been sold out, thank you for your response. More twinkee keychains will be available soon:D

My bed of daisies...

One of my most pleasant part of the day is walking to the Royal Botanical Gardens with Walter and have our quiet time together resting at our favorite spot by the lake in the park. Here, I used my camera phone to take a photo of Walter sitting on a bed of daisies...I love how the light reflects off his white coat :D

I can't remember a warm hot day in Summer so far, it's been cold and wet so I decided to make Ami her own shawl to keep her warm. woof woof!

awww..I just love how this little pup turned out..not quite a Walter I'd planned but is a "Dixie" instead. Couldn't help myself with those pink ribbon trims (lucky for Walter)!! LOL
Dixie is my first puppy design modeled on my forever puppy Walter, a King Charles Cavalier. She is 16cm/6 inches created from dense wavey mohair in blenheim colours. She has a little brown spot on her back and a little brown tail. Dixie has large black German glass eyes and a little black embroidered nose. Her feet are filled with steel shots and pollyflock. Dixie is very cute wearing a little diamante letter "D" around her neck..."D" is for "Dixie" of course! hehe
Walter is so curious about her and have already assumed the big brother role. Watching her every move and each tiny step, ready to catch her in case she stumbles on her unsteady paws! :D
Dixie is currently being listed on ebay for a 5 day auction until the 8th of December. Here is the link to take you straight to her auction:

busy bee...

This is Ami and each day she would sit by the window looking at the flower box waiting for Mr. Bee to come and collect the sweet nectar from her pretty flowers. Busy Mr. Bee has no time to stop and chat but that's okay Ami said, "I'll just be here to keep you company!"...she would sing and tell him stories and some days she would sit quietly and just watch him work, hoping to make his work a little lighter and his day just a little better :D
More photos of Ami can be seen from her webpage and she is now waiting for adoption. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions :D
